We are excited that you are a part of our MHS cadet family. As a family, we function as a unit, support one another and develop life long brother/sisterhood bonds. Our goal is simple: to develop outstanding cadet citizens who impact their school and community. There are many ways to impact others through activities and clubs that we offer and each of you are encouraged to join. Cadets motivate, mentor, provide leadership, and go places…so let’s get moving! Remember, We are in this together!
LT COL FRANK LADSON IS CURRENTLY THE SENIOR AEROSPACE SCIENCE
INSTRUCTOR OF MANNING HIGH SCHOOL’S AIR FORCE JUNIOR ROTC UNIT. LT COL LADSON GRADUATED FROM THE VIRGINIA MILITARY INSTITUTE IN 1985
AND AFTER RECEIVING HIS COMMISSION SPENT 20 YEARS IN THE USAF.
DURING THIS TIME HE SERVED IN VARIOUS COMMAND POSITIONS IN THE
UNITED STATES, EUROPE, AND IN IRAQ DURING OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE AIR FORCE LT COL LADSON ASSUMED A
POSITION AS A GENERAL MANAGER FOR THOMPSON INDUSTRIAL SERVICES IN
SUMTER, SC.
LT COL LADSON ASSUMED HIS CURRENT POSITION IN JULY OF
2009. LT COL LADSON IS MARRIED TO SUE LADSON AND THEY HAVE TWO
CHILDREN, A SON JOSH, AND A DAUGHTER JULIA.

LT COL FRANK LADSON, USAF (RETIRED)
MSgt Stevie Ward is a North Carolina native, currently resides in Elgin SC. He has been with the Manning Monarchs AFJROTC program since he retired in 2011. Msgt Ward has a passion for ROTC cadets to be successful and building a competitive drill and aero club. He also enjoys being outdoors, playing sports, and attending car shows.

Sergeant Ward's decorations include the Purple Heart for the June 1996 Terrorist Bombing of Khobar Towers. He also received the Air Force Achievement Medal and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
​
He is married to the former Nancy M. Killian of Brevard, North Carolina. His son, Aaron M. Lindsey is a sailor in the United States Navy.
